How it all started<\/h1>\n

Wilhelm I, the German Emperor and King of Prussia, was 83 years old when the young Caesar Behrendt came to Berlin together with his family.<\/p>\n

Just like him, many people came to the young metropolis to find happiness. But this young man was not one of the innumerable nameless people. It was the store owner and horse dealer from Stubent in West Prussia!<\/p>\n

Caesar Behrendt was enterprising. As enterprising as the city of Berlin, which at the time, was bursting at the seams.<\/p>\n

Constructions were going on everywhere, as the housing shortage was great. The industry grew explosively and the need for land was barely satisfactory.<\/p>\n

Rathenau had the first electricity plant built: AEG. And on the house at Lothringer Strasse 16, next to the entrance, there was a new sign with the inscription: Caesar Behrendt, realtor.

Company foundation<\/b><\/h1>\n

Caesar\u00b4s son, worked in his father’s company. It was only after 8 years that the real estate company Artur Caesar Behrendt Real Estate was founded on April 21, 1888. Today we can proudly look back on more than 133 years of history.<\/p>\n

After the death of Kaiser Wilhelm I in 1888 – the “three emperor year” – an era came to an end. Emperor Friedrich III died after only 99 days of reign and the young emperor, Wilhelm II was crowned that same year. Bismarck’s term of office was only to last two years. Meanwhile, Lilienthal was tinkering with his flying machines in the noble villa colony of Lichterfelde, the Berlin postmen protested against their 14-hour working hours, cooks only wanted to go into service for \u201crule with water pipes\u201d and the route network of the world’s first electric tram was opened for the second time.<\/p>\n

Growth<\/b><\/h1>\n

Behrendt got highly involved. As early as 1897 the company had to move to a larger office – to the \u201cCity\u201d on Oranienstrasse.<\/p>\n

On the one hand flourishing cultural life – on the other hand technical progress: While Josef Kainz and Eleonore Duse delighted the Berlin citizens with their appearances at the German Theatre, the city’s first automobile was also registered.<\/p>\n

But soon there was not enough space in the company\u00b4s office in Berlin-Mitte and the company moved to the finer \u201ewest side\u201d.<\/p>\n

In 1890 the new office was opened at Grollmannstrasse 15 and Mr. Behrendt became a member of the \u201cAssociation of Young Merchants in Berlin\u201d.

Seriousness and reliability<\/b><\/h1>\n

in 5th generation<\/b><\/h1>\n

It was only when his father fell ill that he changed his mind, after eight years of employment in another real estate company. On October 1st, 1987, he joined the management and became partner.<\/p>\n

His father, Wolfgang A. C. Behrendt, who remained managing director alongside him, was still a commercial judge at the Berlin Regional Court, 1st chairman of the Berliner Immobilien-B\u00f6rse e.V. association and an honorary appraiser for the appraisal committee for property values \u200b\u200bin Berlin. When the 100th anniversary was celebrated on October 1st, 1988, the father had already been running the company for 42 years.<\/p>\n

Due to the fire on December 16, 1989 in the company’s office at Kurf\u00fcrstendamm 185, we were forced to look for another domicile. We found it at Landshuter Strasse 1 in Berlin-Sch\u00f6neberg.<\/p>\n

The fact that all business documents and many memories of the company’s long history were destroyed in the fire was not easy at all for the senior boss. A few months after the fire, on April 2nd, 1990, he had passed away. Despite the pain of his death, the family business continues with full motivation. Alexander Caesar Behrendt was only 28 years old at the time and was following his father’s footsteps. Alexander Caesar Behrendt is also a member of the RDM.<\/p>\n

His association membership was confirmed 1982 by an official certificate. He is a member of the board of directors and worked in the competition committee for a long time.<\/p>\n

He now runs the business and sees maintaining the company’s special reputation as one of the most important investments in the future. In a fast-moving time with many changes, large construction projects and international companies are pushing their way to Berlin. There are still many tasks for an experienced and serious real estate company.<\/p>\n

Business has become more fast-paced and more transparent, as a result of the digitization, the two of them move with the times and think future-oriented. It is particularly important to them to continue working personally and individually with all business partners. They are shareholders and continue to run the family business in 6th generation.

Wie alles begann<\/h1>

Man schrieb das Jahr 1880. Wilhelm I., der deutsche Kaiser und K\u00f6nig von Preu\u00dfen, war 83 Jahre alt, als der junge Caesar Behrendt mit seiner Familie nach Berlin kam.<\/p>

So wie er, kamen viele Menschen in die junge Metropole, um hier ihr Gl\u00fcck zu finden. Doch dieser junge Mann war keiner der unz\u00e4hligen Namenlosen, die die Not auf dem Lande ins aufstrebende Berlin trieb. Es war der Warenhausbesitzer und Pferdeh\u00e4ndler aus Stubent in Westpreu\u00dfen!<\/p>

Caesar Behrendt war unternehmungslustig. So unternehmungslustig wie die Stadt Berlin, die zu der Zeit aus allen N\u00e4hten platzte.<\/p>

\u00dcberall wurde gebaut, denn die Wohnungsnot war gro\u00df. Die Industrie wuchs explosionsartig, und ihr Bedarf an Grundst\u00fccken war kaum zu befriedigen.<\/p>

Rathenau lie\u00df das erste Elektrizit\u00e4ts-Werk bauen: die AEG. Und am Haus Lothringer Stra\u00dfe 16 prangte neben dem Eingang ein neues Schild mit der Aufschrift: Caesar Behrendt, Makler.<\/p>

Caesars Sohn, arbeitete im v\u00e4terlichen Unternehmen mit. Erst nach 8 Jahren wurde dann am 21. April 1888 die Immobilienfirma Artur Caesar Behrendt Immobilien, gegr\u00fcndet. Heute blicken wir stolz auf eine mehr als 132-j\u00e4hrige Geschichte zur\u00fcck.<\/p>

Mit dem Tod von Kaiser Wilhelm I. ging im Jahr 1888 \u2013 dem \u201eDrei-Kaiser-Jahr\u201c \u2013 eine Epoche zu Ende. Kaiser Friedrich III. starb nach nur 99-t\u00e4giger Regierungszeit und der junger Kaiser, Wilhelm II. wurde noch im selben Jahr gekr\u00f6nt. Bismarcks Amtszeit sollte nur noch zwei Jahre dauern. Derweil bastelte Lilienthal in der vornehmen Villenkolonie Lichterfelde an seinen Flugmaschinen, die Berliner Brieftr\u00e4ger protestierten gegen ihre 14-st\u00fcndige Arbeitszeit, K\u00f6chinnen wollten nur noch zu \u201eHerrschaft mit Wasserleitung\u201c in Dienst gehen und das Streckennetz der ersten elektrischen Stra\u00dfenbahn der Welt wurde bereits zum zweiten Mal ausgebaut.<\/p>

Wachstum<\/h1>

Und die junge Firma A.C. Behrendt mischte kr\u00e4ftig mit. Schon 1897 musste man in ein gr\u00f6\u00dferes B\u00fcro umziehen \u2013 in die \u201eCity\u201c in die Oranienstra\u00dfe.<\/p>

Einerseits bl\u00fchendes kulturelles Leben \u2013 andererseits technischer Fortschritt: W\u00e4hrend Josef Kainz und Eleonore Duse die Berliner mit ihren Auftritten im Deutschen Theater begeisterten, wurde auch das erste Automobil der Stadt zugelassen.<\/p>

Doch schon bald reichte auch der Platz in dem B\u00fcro in Berlin Mitte nicht mehr aus und die Firma zog in den \u201efeinen Westen\u201c um.<\/p>

Im Jahr 1890 wurde das neue B\u00fcro in der Grollmannstra\u00dfe 15 er\u00f6ffnet und Herr Behrendt wurde Mitglied im \u201eVerein junger Kaufleute von Berlin\u201c.<\/p>

Seriosit\u00e4t und Zuverl\u00e4ssigkeit
in der 5. Generation<\/h1>

Auch Alexander Casear Behrendt, der heutige Firmeninhaber, hatte urspr\u00fcnglich nicht vor, in das v\u00e4terliche Unternehmen einzutreten. Erst eine Erkrankung seines Vaters bewog ihn, nach achtj\u00e4hriger Berufst\u00e4tigkeit in einer anderen Immobilienfirma, seine Meinung zu \u00e4ndern. So trat er am 1. Oktober 1987 als Teilhaber in die Gesch\u00e4ftsleitung ein.<\/p>

Sein Vater Wolfgang A. C. Behrendt, der neben ihm Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer blieb, war auch weiterhin Handelsrichter beim Landgericht Berlin, 1. Vorsitzender beim Verein Berliner Immobilien-B\u00f6rse e.V. und ehrenamtlicher Gutachter beim Gutachterausschu\u00df f\u00fcr Grundst\u00fcckswerte in Berlin.\u00a0Als am 1. Oktober 1988 das 100-j\u00e4hrige Jubil\u00e4um gefeiert wurde, leitete der Vater das Unternehmen seit 42 Jahren.<\/span><\/p>

Durch den Brand am 16. Dezember 1989 im damaligen B\u00fcrostandort der Firma, Haus Kurf\u00fcrstendamm 185, wurden wir gezwungen, uns ein Domizil zu suchen.\u00a0Wir fanden es in der Landshuter Stra\u00dfe 1 in Sch\u00f6neberg.<\/span><\/p>

Die Tatsache, dass bei dem Brand die gesamten Gesch\u00e4ftsunterlagen und viele Erinnerungen an die langj\u00e4hrige Firmengeschichte zerst\u00f6rt wurden, traf besonders den Senior- Chef zu tiefst. Wenige Monate nach dem Brand, am 02. April 1990, verstarb er. Trotz des Schmerzes \u00fcber seinen Tod, wird das Familienunternehmen mit vollem Elan weitergef\u00fchrt Alexander Caesar Behrendt war damals erst 28 Jahre alt und tritt in die Fu\u00dfstapfen seines Vaters.\u00a0Auch Alexander Caesar Behrendt ist Mitglied im RDM.<\/span><\/p>

Die Zugeh\u00f6rigkeit zum Verband wird ihm 1982 mit einer Urkunde best\u00e4tigt. Er ist Mitglied des Vorstandes und arbeitete lange unter anderem im Wettbewerbsausschuss mit.
Er f\u00fchrt nun das Gesch\u00e4ft fort und sieht die Wahrung des seri\u00f6sen Rufs des Unternehmens als eine der wichtigsten Investition in die Zukunft. In einer schnelllebigen Zeit mit vielen Ver\u00e4nderungen, gro\u00dfen Bauvorhaben und internationalen Firmen, die nach Berlin dr\u00e4ngen, gibt es auch weiterhin viele Aufgaben f\u00fcr ein erfahrenes und seri\u00f6ses Immobilienunternehmen.<\/p>
